Yesterday the Hosanna David Foundation team, led by the founder Hosanna David, visited Edjokota Community, Edjekota-Ogor in Ughelli North L.G.A of Delta State, where we have some children in our scholarship scheme since 2020. The scholarship programme started in Edjekota Community in the year 2020 when Hosanna David attended a funeral service in the community and saw some out-of-school children playing outside the Church premises. He interviewed them and found out that they dropped out of school because of financial issues. He took them to the primary school they were attending. After confirming from the Head Mistress of Iyeye Primary School, he offered all of them scholarships through their primary and secondary school education. Since then, the number of children has increased from 19 to 32.
We had a meeting with our 3 volunteers in Edjekota-Ogor, namely: Mrs. Akpos Mukoro (the Head Mistress of Edjokuta Primary School), Mrs Mercy Baker and Mrs. Sarah Otuisi (from Edjekota Secondary School) and some of the parents and guardians of the beneficiaries. Yesterday, Mr. Hosanna David offered additional 5 other children scholarships, some of whom are orphans.
The parents and guardians, in appreciation, entertained us and also showed their appreciation by giving us food items. When Hosanna David saw what they did, he gave the parents and guardians of the children the sum of one hundred thousand Naira (N100,000.00). Our goal is to reduce the rate of illiteracy and help out-of-school children get back to school, irrespective of their financial situations. Please join us, donate or become a volunteer. We can’t do it alone.
