Today, Hosanna David Foundation (HDF) carried out an inspiring outreach at Royal Demonstration School, Iyara, Warri, Delta State, during the school’s 2024 Christmas Carol Party.
The event was centered on empowering students through digital skills awareness, helping them understand the future opportunities that technology presents.
Our speaker opened the session by explaining what digital skills are in simple, relatable terms. Students were encouraged to see technology not just as entertainment but as a powerful tool for building their future. The speaker emphasized the need for young people to move beyond being digital consumers and start becoming digital creators—learning to design, build, edit, code, and innovate using the same tools they already use daily.
We highlighted how various industries—education, media, business, medicine, engineering, and even agriculture—are now powered by technology, making digital literacy a core requirement for success in today’s world. Students were encouraged to begin developing capacity in these areas early, even with the simple tools and free learning platforms available to them.
To keep the session engaging, we held an interactive question-and-answer segment.
Students who participated actively and answered correctly received gifts and special recognition, which brought excitement and joy to the event.
The outreach ended with a warm, fulfilling moment as members of the Hosanna David Foundation team took photos with the winners and staff, capturing the joy of the Christmas celebration and the impact of the day’s learning.
The visit was truly fulfilling for all of us at HDF, and we are committed to continuing our mission of empowering young people with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in a digital future.
