The Education Crisis in Nigeria

More than 10.5 million children are out of school in Nigeria, of which 60% are girls. Hosanna David Foundation is committed to reducing the number of out-of-school children through scholarships and educational support programs.

Illiteracy is a major cause of youth restiveness, stealing, prostitution, early pregnancy, child marriage, and child labor. If we must have a better tomorrow, we must invest in the future of our children today.

Primary School Beneficiaries

Nigeria has one of the highest numbers of out-of-school children in the world with an estimated 10.2 million at the primary level alone.
At Hosanna David Foundation (HDF), we are committed to changing this story.

Through our Train-A-Child Scholarship Programme, we are helping out-of-school children return to school with full scholarships, covering everything from tuition to learning materials. We work closely with community leaders, volunteer teachers, and schools to identify vulnerable children and support them consistently.

Every child we send back to school is a life redirected, a dream restored, and a future rebuilt.

These stats reveals a deep crisis:

8.1 million children in Nigeria are out of school at the junior secondary level, and
12.4 million children have never attended school at all.

These numbers highlight the scale of vulnerability across the country and Delta State is not exempt from this challenge.

This is where Hosanna David Foundation (HDF) steps in.

Through our education interventions and the Train-A-Child Scholarship Programme, HDF is actively working to curb the rising number of out-of-school children by:

Providing full scholarships for vulnerable children,
Supporting families who cannot afford school fees,
Partnering with community leaders and volunteer teachers to identify out-of-school children, and
Ensuring continuous monitoring so beneficiaries remain in school.
